Raven - Character/Creature Design
Quoth the raven, Nevermore (Graphics)
My stock art company is called Nevermore Graphics. The reason I named it as such is because of Edgar Alan Poe's poem "The Raven".
I wanted to make a short film about that poem for literally years, however scheduling, budget and location constraints had prevented it. In the end I decided to simply model the raven and make it a clip, just to scratch that itch. The rave is also available for purchase on several marketplaces.
Since my stock graphics/models division's name is "Nevermore Graphics", I couldn't NOT make a raven.
Many of the feathers had to be sown and rotated into position by hand, to get the look right...
...Especially the feathers on the wings. Which were mostly not mirrored.
The flight cycle was one of the most difficult things I've had to animate.
Making this raven fly was difficult, making it land was even harder.
